NVHC Board Meeting 12-17-20 

 

Board Members Present: Robyn Rippel, Becky Houlihan, Kim Rozhon, Rob Wysoglad, Louis Dominguez, Mike Haggery, Jason Lichtman, Dan Granato

Working Agreements:

• Be respectful of all opinions

• Speak openly & honestly

• Remember the importance of being fiscally responsible throughout decision making process and allow by-laws to drive decision making process

• Decision making should be for the good of the entire club, not personal gain

• Confidentiality is expected

• Any decisions need to be put to a vote with majority outcome

 

JANUARY 2ND & 3RD ROUND ROBIN GAMES:

Jason Lichtman has distributed the schedule for the Varsity and JV Gold teams for the Round Robin games at the Kube in Hammond on 1/2/21 & 1/3/21.  Participating clubs are Neuqua, Naperville North, Brother Rice and Waubonsie.

 

JANUARY OR FEBRUARY BIG BEAR TOURNAMENT:

Discussion took place about whether or not to register for an out of state tournament in January or February.  The Board decided to continue to try to obtain ice for scrimmages in hopes the IL West Season will begin in January or February.

 

AHAI/IL WEST UPDATES:

No new updates but President Wysoglad will inform us as soon as he hears if/when the IL West season will begin for 2020-21. Canlan is still closed and opening is tentatively planned for January 4, 2021.  In the event Canlan does not open in January, the board has decided to look for ice at other rinks to facilitate practices.  

 

Ice Updates:

Additional ice slots have been obtained for practice at All Seasons and Scrimmages at Midwest Ice in Dyer, IN.  Managers will add these dates and times to the calendar. 

 

2020-21 SENIOR NIGHT:  Committee- Nicole Romita, Kathleen Glas and Craig Fisk  

Nicole Romita, Kathleen Glas and Craig Fisk have volunteered to chair the Senior Night Committee to honor this year’s 11 seniors. Becky Houlihan will be the Board contact for this committee.  It is still being determined whether or not just the NVHC seniors will be celebrated or if we will join with another team to celebrate both sets of seniors. A date has not yet been determined for senior night.

 

2020-21 End of Season Banquet:

Because we have not yet had a season, the traditional NVHC Banquet in March will not occur with the same format as in year’s past at that time.  The Board will decide about when/how/if to have something later in the year.

CLOSED SESSION: The Board met to discuss questions received from a club member and will reach out to the member with answers to their questions.

 

 Determine 2021 Board Meeting Schedule: 

January 21, 2021

February 18, 2021

If IL West announces the season will begin in early January, the Board will meet earlier than January 21, 2021.
